Fortunately, with cosmetic laser treatment, you can make yourself look and feel a whole lot better, with as little as only one or two visits. Our treatment will help you get back to wearing shorts and bathing suits again.
A cosmetic laser emits a prescribed dose of energy to the vein. The laser selectively targets the problem veins while sparing surrounding areas. Typically one or two treatments are required and results can be seen in 3-4 weeks.
We use a narrow band vascular IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device which superseded old-fashioned vascular laser several years ago. The results are superior with less risk of side-effects. No bruising - which is a major disadvantage with vascular lasers. In most case redness and swelling is only for 24hrs.
There is a small risk of blistering, often because of residual make-up on the skin or an un-declared sun-tan.
Expect 80-90% of vessels to respond to treatment.
An initial consultation is important to establish if there is any underlying rosacea or other facial skin disorder that is contributing to the facial redness. Failing to treat this is often the main cause of vessels returning after treatment or in the future.
Very deep, purple or very thick blood vessels do not always respond to treatment.
Whilst we can treat vessel in other body areas, we may advice you not to have IPL or laser treatment, or consultant a vascular surgeon.
